What gutters cost in Sacramento
Real 2026 ranges for the Sacramento area — repairs, seamless replacement, tile-roof work, guards and cleaning — and what pushes a quote up or down. These are typical ranges, not a quote; call for a written estimate on your house.
Why Sacramento prices run above the national average
California labor, California workers' compensation rates, and aluminum coil that costs more delivered here than in Texas or Ohio. Expect 15–25% above the figures in a national gutter-cost article. The ranges below are what a licensed, insured crew charges in Sacramento County and the Roseville–Folsom suburbs in 2026.
Gutter repair prices
| Repair | Typical Sacramento price |
|---|---|
| Reseal a leaking corner or end cap | $175 – $300 |
| Re-hang a sagging run (per 20 ft) | $175 – $350 |
| Replace a downspout (upsized to 3x4) | $140 – $260 each |
| Add a downspout to a long run | $200 – $350 |
| Replace a damaged 10–20 ft section | $250 – $550 |
| Re-hang a tile-roof gutter at the right height (per 40 ft) | $300 – $550 |
| Clear a plugged buried drain line | $150 – $400 |
| Fascia board replacement | $10 – $24 per foot |
| Downspout extensions / splash blocks | $30 – $90 each |
A visit that covers two or three of these is usually $350–$700. There's no storm surcharge; wind damage is priced like any other repair, and we photograph it for your insurer at no charge. The gutter repair page describes each job.
Seamless gutter installation prices
| System | Per linear foot | 160 ft single-story | 220 ft two-story |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5" aluminum, 2x3 downspouts | $11 – $14 | $1,750 – $2,250 | $2,400 – $3,100 |
| 5" aluminum, 3x4 downspouts | $12 – $16 | $1,900 – $2,600 | $2,650 – $3,500 |
| 6" aluminum, 3x4 downspouts | $14 – $19 | $2,250 – $3,050 | $3,100 – $4,200 |
| Tile-roof hangers and reset (add) | $2 – $4 | +$320 – $640 | +$440 – $880 |
| Copper | $40 – $65 | $6,400 – $10,400 | quoted |
Tear-off and haul-away of the old system is included. Fascia repair is a separate line. Gutter installation cost in Sacramento is driven more by the roof than by the house size — a two-story tile home in Folsom with many corners is a different job from a single-story ranch in Tahoe Park with four straight runs. The replacement page explains the sizing; the tile roof page explains the add-on.
Gutter guards
Aluminum screen $6–$11 per foot; stainless micro-mesh $12–$22 per foot; reverse-curve $22–$35 per foot. On a 160-foot home that's roughly $1,000–$3,500 by type. Cheapest when installed with new gutters. The guards page matches type to tree.
Gutter cleaning
Single-story $140–$230, two-story $210–$350, drain-line jetting extra if the buried line is plugged. The cleaning fee comes off any repair we find. See gutter cleaning.
What moves the price
- Stories. Two-story work costs 15–25% more for the setup.
- Tile. $2–$4 per foot for long-reach hangers, tile lifting and resetting, and working from the eave.
- Corners. Every inside and outside corner is a miter. A hip-roof tile home in Roseville can have twelve; a ranch house has four.
- Fascia. The biggest surprise on old houses. We probe it before quoting so it's on the estimate, not the invoice.
- Gutter size. Six-inch runs about 20% more than five and is worth it under trees and on big roofs.
- Drainage. If the old downspouts fed a buried line that's dead, extensions or a new line are a separate decision.
- Season. Prices don't change, but availability does. October and November are booked; a September estimate gets you a date before the rain.
A worked example
A two-story tile-roof home in Folsom's Empire Ranch: 220 feet of gutter, six downspouts, ten corners, one soft corner of fascia. Six-inch .032 aluminum with 3x4 downspouts at $16 a foot is $3,520; tile hangers and reset at $3 a foot, $660; eight feet of fascia at $14, $112; extensions on six downspouts at $45, $270. About $4,560, one long day, old gutters hauled off, cracked tiles replaced and counted. The same house quoted at $2,900 is 5-inch .027 aluminum on standard hangers screwed to the fascia at shingle height — which is what's on it now.
Reading a Sacramento gutter quote
Ask for the gauge (.032, not .027), the hanger type and spacing (hidden, every 24 inches), the downspout size, the tile detail if you have tile, and whether fascia and haul-away are included. A quote $800 under the others is thinner metal, spike hangers and 2x3 downspouts, hung the way the old ones were. The cheapest quote is usually the same gutters you're replacing goes line by line.
A gutter estimate Sacramento contractors hand you should be free, in writing, and good for at least 30 days, from a contractor who can show you a CSLB license number. If someone wants a signature before they leave the driveway, that's a sales model, not a price.

Gutters for Tile Roofs →Questions we get asked
Is it cheaper to repair or replace gutters in Sacramento?
Repair, if the gutters are aluminum, under about 20 years old, and the problems are in a few spots. Replace if they're sectional, rusting steel, or more than a third needs work. On a 1970s ranch with original gutters, a repair list past $800 is usually a down payment on a system that's failing everywhere.
How much are gutters for a 2,000 sq ft house in Sacramento?
Usually 150–180 linear feet, so $1,800–$2,600 for 5-inch seamless aluminum and $2,200–$3,200 for 6-inch on a single story. Add 15–25% for two stories, $2–$4 per foot for tile, and a fascia line if any of it is soft. Typical ranges, not a quote.
Does homeowners insurance cover gutter damage in California?
For sudden damage — wind, a fallen limb, a tree — yes, less your deductible. Not for age, rust or years of overflow. After a storm we photograph the damage and write a scope for your adjuster at no charge. With many California deductibles at $1,000–$2,500, a single-run repair often isn't worth a claim; a whole-side replacement may be.
